DOM IS BACK. Or stuff.
For having retired from LJ and Facebook and Myspace after college, I've been on those 3 a lot lately.
My latest saga's at an end, that is MAGFEST 2008, the east coast's most bad-ass 4-day videogame and videogame music party in January. Just picture around 1000 videogame geeks and musicians in the same hotel for 4 days combined with 2 nights of concerts with bands playing videogame covers, and my newest favorite thing...
That would be: Jamspace, a separate area at magfest this year which myself and a few others got off the ground. In essence we throw a bunch of instruments, a stage, and some lights into a room and watch what happens. There are tons of youtube videos of jamspace already up, and more to come. In addition, check out some jamspace recordings we made over there, more coming everyday.
Jamspace was a total blast this year, though setting up/breaking down and staffing it 20 hours a day landed me an upper respiratory infection and a week's worth of downtime just when things are really heating up at work. Despite this, I'll be doing it again next year. You should go to magfest.
In other VIDEOGAME MUSIC RELATED NEWS: Friday Feb 1st, Entertainment System and Powerglove are both playing at the Black Hole in Dundalk. Be there.
Also on the horizon don't forget that 32 bit genocide is coming to a local Patterson Theater or thereabouts near you sometime over the summer. 16bit gen, put on by Chris and JD from local videogame band Entertainment System, was another event to add to the badass-videogame-music-related list.
I'll update this in at most 6 months again. PEACE.Current Muzak: Cave Story - Moonsong
